Problem Statement: NCR's Developer portal was visually inconsistent across different pages and was built before too much consideration of information architecture and usability. UX was asked to create a more standardized experience.

Requirements Gathering

After obtaining the initial problem statement from our business partners, I began an audit of current information architecture and iconography throughout the NCR Developer Portal (DevEx) which uncovered gaps and inconsistencies.

User Validation

To better understand and prioritize opportunities for UX enhancement I interviewed with the primary users, Software Engineers. Through interviews as well as card-sorting activities, I learned how they currently leverage the NCR Developer Portal (DevEx). A primary pain-point turned out to be that users were not able to easily determine the function of various API products due to the overly confusing graphics.

Ideation

One of the primary areas of opportunity was to create a new set of graphics to represent our different API products. Where the previous graphics were vague and not easy to interpret, I generated a few simple and easy to consume options for testing.
